The Fortunate Pilgrim. Television Movie, 1988. Sophia Loren, Edward James Olmos. (Mario Puzo's autobiographical second novel, first published in 1964, is set on Tenth Avenue, but was filmed in Yugoslavia.)

State of Grace. Feature Film, 1990. Sean Penn, Ed Harris. (Some scenes filmed on Tenth Avenue.)

Sleepers. Feature Film, 1996. Brad Pitt. (Lorenzo Carcaterra's book is set in Hell's Kitchen, but locations filmed mostly in Brooklyn.)

The Local History Collection also has street-by-street, building-by-building photographs of Hell's Kitchen from the late 1880s to the present. (Not every building is included.)

In addition, maps of the Hell's Kitchen district, from the 1660s to the present, can be viewed and studied in the Map Division, General Research Library, 212 930-0587.
